Mil-spec never dies, but it's way past its prime. When it comes to ARs, the smaller the part, the less people think about it. But that doesn't mean there's not room for improvement almost everywhere you look. Both in design and manufacturing, there are always gains to be made. The JP Enhanced Cam Pin retains every critical Mil-spec dimension of the part but improves on both design and finish. A smoother operating system with lower overall wear in the components is the result. In addition to receiving our low-friction QPQ finish, our Enhanced Cam Pins are also machined thicker than the usual undersized dimension of standard pins. An undersized pin drops right in but allows slop in the relationship between bolt, bolt carrier and cam pin. Looseness in these parts stresses the cam pin hole of the bolt during cycling, which is why bolt breakage is so common at this point. It also wears the cam pin faster as the carrier wears into the material at the bearing points. A tighter pin with low-friction coating cuts all this wear down dramatically.

To ale neznamená, že není prostor pro zlepšení téměř všude, kam se podíváte. Ať už jde o design nebo výrobu, vždy existují možnosti, jak se posunout dál. JP Enhanced Cam Pin si zachovává všechny kritické rozměry dle Mil-spec, ale vylepšuje jak design, tak povrchovou úpravu. Výsledkem je hladší chod systému s nižším celkovým opotřebením komponent. Kromě naší nízkofrikční QPQ povrchové úpravy jsou naše Enhanced Cam Piny také obráběny silnější než standardní piny, které bývají obvykle podrozměrné. Podrozměrný pin sice zapadne bez problémů, ale umožňuje vůli ve vztahu mezi závěrem, nosičem závěru a cam pinem. Vůle v těchto dílech zatěžuje otvor pro cam pin ve závěru při cyklování, což je důvod, proč je lámání závěru v tomto místě tak běžné. Rovněž dochází k rychlejšímu opotřebení cam pinu, protože nosič se začne zarývat do materiálu v místech kontaktu. Těsnější pin s nízkofrikčním povlakem výrazně snižuje veškeré toto opotřebení.
