1911 Auto Bushing Wrench, Plus Ratchet/Ejector Rod Wrench

An obvious "must have" tool belonging on the bench of every gunsmith or armorer who works on (or strips for rebluing) any Colt handgun. The double-ended 1911 Auto bushing wrench feature has been time proven by gunsmiths. Ours handles the traditional Government model with one end and the Colt Officer's ACP with the other. We've all sweated over the mar-free removal and reassembly of the ratchet (ejector/extractor) from the ejector rod of large and small frame Colt revolvers. Brownells Colt Wrench handles the operation properly. The hex opening fits over the ratchet of large frame Colts (including old and new Pythons) to hold the ratchet for unscrewing from the ejector rod. For small frame Colt revolvers, the slot with two small studs fits between ratchet and cylinder face; the two studs fitting into two of the ratchet cartridge extractors. The tool ratchet unscrews from rod with no mar or deformations! A lifesaver!!

Great Wrench (7.10.2012)

it a great wrench I used it for a tight 1911 bushings. the reason why I gave it 4 stars is that is made out of steel and can mar bluing. Other than that it is a perfect for Colt 1911s, and I beleve it can be used with the colt revolvers also.

Needs Longer Screws (7.6.2014)

To use this tool for a Colt Detective Spl, The 2 screws are too short.
You need to replace the 2 screws with longer screws in order to grab onto the star ratchet, Once I replace them this tool works great to remove the ratchet.

Did not fit the New Service (10.1.2016)

This seems to be a well thought-out and built tool however, I bought it specifically to disassemble a Colt New Service. The cut-out in the tool will not fit over the ratchet of either of my two pistols. It only misses by a very small amount so I will likely carefully enlarge the hex until it fits. I marked 'would not recommend' this tool for the New Service but I would for other uses without reservation.
