The EGW Evolved 1911 Sear Spring has been quietly in the works for some time. EGW is known for improving on original designs, one could even say they go through an EVOLUTION. With over 30 years experience in the 1911 market, they have finally come up with their our own fix to combat the typical issues associated with other sear springs. Sometimes 1911 frames can be a bit out of spec. One of the more common issues they have seen is the sear spring slot cut lower than it should be. This can cause the sear spring to not fully engage on the sear. Many springs currently on the market are not long enough to address this issue. EGW went back to the drawing board and made their spring over .030"" longer on the left finger to accommodate frames that encounter this issue. Above Image Details: Detail A - The left side of the spring has a relief cut to allow for the spring to move without contacting or rubbing on the frame. This ensures a smoother, crisper trigger pull. Detail B - The sear pad on the left leaf is less than 1/2 the size and weight than other sear springs, thus reducing the weight for recoil or inertia to act upon. Detail C - The center and right side leaves are 5% narrower to reduce weight and increase feel. Detail D - The disconnector pad on the center leaf is smaller than other sear springs to reduce weight, while still retaining the standard contact. Please Note - they do not glass bead or sandblast the sears after heat treat. The heat treating process leaves the springs with a spotty finish. This is not rust and does not affect performance in any way.

Společnost EGW je známá vylepšováním původních konstrukcí, řeklo by se dokonce, že prochází EVOLUCÍ. S více než 30letými zkušenostmi na trhu s modely 1911 konečně přišli s vlastním řešením typických problémů spojených s ostatními searovými pružinami. Občas mohou být rámy zbraní 1911 mírně mimo specifikace. Jedním z běžnějších problémů, které EGW zaznamenalo, je, že drážka pro searovou pružinu je řezána níže, než by měla být. To může způsobit, že searová pružina není plně zapojena na sear. Mnoho pružin aktuálně na trhu není dostatečně dlouhých, aby tento problém vyřešily. EGW se vrátilo zpět k tabuli a vyrobilo svou pružinu o více než 0,030\" delší na levém rameni, aby vyhovovala rámování, které se s tímto problémem setkává. Detaily obrázku výše: Detail A - Levá strana pružiny má vyfrézovanou úlevu, aby pružina mohla pohybovat bez dotýkání se nebo tření o rám. To zajišťuje hladší a přesnější spoušť. Detail B - Searová podložka na levém listu je méně než poloviční velikosti a hmotnosti než u ostatních searových pružin, čímž se snižuje hmotnost pro zpětný ráz nebo inerci, která může působit. Detail C - Střední a pravé listy jsou o 5% užší, aby se snížila hmotnost a zvýšila citlivost. Detail D - Podložka pro disconnector na středním listu je menší než u ostatních searových pružin, aby se snížila hmotnost, zatímco stále zachovává standardní kontakt. Upozornění - pružiny po tepelném zpracování neglazujeme ani nepískujeme. Tepelné zpracování zanechává pružiny s nejednotným povrchem. To není rez a nijak neovlivňuje výkon.
